Kattekwaad - Lino print

Kattekwaad (Mischief) portrays a bold black cat set against a richly patterned floral background. The play between positive and negative space gives this print its graphic energy — the cat both disappears into and emerges from the design, much like a cat that does exactly as it pleases.

Lino is a type of relief printmaking where an image is carved into the surface of a linoleum block. The remaining raised area of the block, once inked, transfers the image onto paper with a printing press. This technique is known for its bold, graphic style and produces striking images.
